NYS Markets offers three products, each on its own platform and market. Pick the one that fits your style, then trade the right instrument within it.
Which product?
CFDs on MetaTrader 5: Forex, Indices, Metals, Energies and Crypto CFDs, with leverage up to 1:100 depending on the instrument.
Futures on Quantower and ATAS (via dxFeed): CME-group futures only, no stocks, forex or options in this product.
Stocks on DeepCharts: US stocks with order-flow tools.
Choosing a futures contract
Futures contracts expire, so a symbol combines the instrument, a month code and a year: [Instrument][Month][Year]. For example, ESH6 is the March 2026 E-mini S&P 500.
CME month codes
Code | Month | Code | Month |
F | January | N | July |
G | February | Q | August |
H | March | U | September |
J | April | V | October |
K | May | X | November |
M | June | Z | December |
Always trade the current front-month contract, the one with the highest volume and liquidity. The most liquid index futures (ES, NQ, RTY, YM) follow a quarterly cycle, expiring in March (H), June (M), September (U) and December (Z).
What to avoid
Never trade a continuous/rollover charting symbol; those are for charting only, not execution.
Avoid contracts trading under about 1,000 contracts a day, spreads wider than 1–2 ticks, or contracts expiring within two weeks.
